Queen Mab

Queen Mab stood about 14 3 hands and was described by "The Druid" as "both thick and lengthy, with a white mane and tail, and wide drooping ears." Although she never started she trained at Epsom and Newmarket.
 
Tartar Mare

Dennis O'Kelly's famous Tartar Mare was bred by the Duke of Bolton and later owned by a succession owners - Peter Hammond, Reverend Lascelles "and his friend," sold for 5 guineas, and then purchased by O'Kelly for 100 guineas. She is said to have been bred to common stallions until she was twenty. O'Kelly is reputed to have made over £30,000 from the sale of her progeny.
