Daffodil's
Dam |
| Owned by Sir Thomas Gascoigne, and sired by Gascoigne's
Foreign Horse, she produced Lord Portmore's Daffodil (ch 1725
Bald Galloway), said to be a high class stayer, and Mr Durham's
Favourite (gr f 1728 Bald Galloway Colt), who won the Royal Plate at
Hambleton in 1733 beating twenty other entries, including Lord Gower's Fair
Helen (b f 1729c), the taproot mare of Family
10. |
| |
| Eclipse Mare |
| The General Stud Book entry for the Eclipse Mare first stated that
she was from Vauxhall's dam by Young Cade. This was based on a casual
error made by Lord Grosvenor, the breeder of Mambrunello [ex-Vauxhall
Snap], which was repeated in the American Stud Book. It was corrected in
later editions of the General Stud Book. |
