Sister to Silver
Bred by George O'Brien Wyndham (1751-1837), 2nd Earl of Egremont, this mare was driven in a gig and used under saddle for several years before she entered the stud. She produced nine foals, including Mr Henry Vansittart's Burleigh (below). Her last foal, a grey filly by Sir Harry Dimsdale, died at birth and was said to have had only one eye like her dam [GSB 2:130]. Sister to Silver was shot in August of 1818.
