Yorkshire Jenny
YORKSHIRE JENNY, (a bay mare - foaled in 1758) bred by Stephen Vevers of Morwick, near Leeds, Yorkshire, and sold to Mr Grady of Ireland. Yorkshire Jenny was got by Young Cade; her dam (bred by Mr Hartley and foaled in 1746) by Traveller, out of a daughter of Mr Hartley's Blind Horse. Yorkshire Jenny's dam was also the dam of Morwick Ball, Moonshine, Carabineer, Buff, Morwick, &c [Pick 1:306].

Yorkshire Jenny won the Great Subscription at York in 1763, beating Beaufremont. According to Orton (84, 89) "There was a very great assemblage on the course this day, and the cheers of the country people, who had come to back Yorkshire Jenny, was so loud as to be heard in the city of York. She was afterwards sold to Ireland."
