Favourite
Jackson's Favourite is recorded in the General Stud Book as a bay filly [GSB 1:7], however this is contradicted by earlier sources which state that she was grey. She was otherwise known as the Gardiner's (or Gardener's) Mare, who "won six royal plates of one hundred guineas each" [E2:95]. Her sire is identified by several different sources as either Bridgewater's Horse, Bridgewater's Grey Arabian, or the Widdrington Grey Arabian. Bridgewater's Grey Arabian was formerly called the Widdrington Arabian [Pick1:30]. See Highflyer for the evidence that the Widdrington Grey Arabian is the same horse as Alcock's Arabian.
