Selima was traditionally thought to have belonged to Family 15-c,
however, her pedigree, which was discovered by C M Prior in the Godolphin
stud book MS,
showed her to be a descendant of the Moonah Barb Mare of
Family
21 [Royal Studs:172]. MtDNA testing of her matrilineal descendants
confirms the Godolphin record.
