| The American Stud Book records two Janus* crosses in the pedigree of
Polly Williams, however, her owner was known to add Janus* crosses to
the pedigrees of his horses. |

| Reality |
| Reality was bred by Marmaduke Johnson and owned by Johnson & Craig
of Virginia and Pennsylvania. |
| . |
| Fashion |
| Fashion was bred and raced by William Gibbons of New Jersey. A
well conformed muscular filly slightly over 15 hands, she is described
as having a faultless dispostion. She won 32 races out of 36, most of
them 4-mile heats, beaten only by Tyler and Peytona. In her 1842 match
against Boston she set a new American record for 4 miles - 7.32 1/2,
beating Boston in straight heats. For a while she was the best race
horse in America. |
