Home of the Wyvill family Constable Burton Hall is located 3 miles east of Leyburn in North Yorkshire. Designed by John Carr of York the present hall dates from 1768 and was built on the site of an earlier Elizabethan structure. Sir Marmaduke Wyvill (1692-1754), 6th Baronet, was a prominent early breeder whose stock included such notable horses as the Belgrade Turk, Volunteer and the famous Wyvill's Roan Mare - possibly the queenpin of Family 6.
